Ckey: TyroneDadWhisperer

Discord name: Soomis#1529

In-character name: ZadZad (Unggoy)

general character info: He isn't the smartest Unggoy out there, he just does what the 'Big Four Jaw' Tells him what to do, even if that means dying, For he helped along the path towards the great Journey!

Reason for joining : I've always been interested in Halo and its lore and one of the main reasons was the Covenant, And after hearing about this Server from Johnny Fanta I thought it might be a good Idea to sign up for the Covvies and Kill Heretics Cool

Roleplay Example/History: I have never recieved any LRP notes/Bans on any other servers I have played in the months I have played ss13

  Ban Appeal
Posted by: GrimmReconz - 11-14-2019, 08:37 PM - Forum: Finished Applications - Replies (1)

Your Byond/Ckey Username: GrimmReconz

Your Discord Username: N/A

Your character name (if relevant): Don't remember

Who were you banned by: titanfield

Date of ban: 3/16/18

Length of ban: Permanent (i'm assuming since its been a year+)

Full ban reason: Rdm x2 logged after killing second person. Claimed I was an innie after second kill.

Appeal details/ Why should you be unbanned: Honestly I have no recollection of doing any of this. I just recently started playing SS13 again after a break and I saw this Halo server. The name definitely sounded familiar and I remember playing on a Halo server at around the same time in late 2017/early 2018. Despite this I take full responsibility for my actions and I feel that after being banned for more than a year I deserve a second chance. I'm relatively active in other SS13 communities and very rarely log out if an admin or someone pings me looking for answers (the only times being if I lose connection or a storm hits and thus I come back when I can). I definitely have RP experience and wouldn't normally go killing randoms for shits and giggles but we all make mistakes and from what is written I certainly seem to have made some. Thank you for your time and cheers!

Covenant Application of the informing kind

Ckey: Shanky_

Discord name: Shanky #8909

In-character name: Pablap

general character info:
Pablap is what some heretical naked-chimps, or split-jaw meanies would call "Lobotomized." or "Not having all the lights on upstairs." but, that is often thought about all Unggoys, where in reality, Pablap is at least moderately more intelligent then the average Unggoy, though only moderately. Pablap has managed to get himself to the highest Unggoy rank, through trials, tribulation, and begging and crying at the feet of his commanding officer, and as an Ultra, he manages to sometimes prevent the other grunts from charging headlong directly into a bullet. He is also somewhat novice at medicine, but only novice, so, comparing that to what other grunts are capable of, and then comparing that to the skills of an actual practitioner, he would fall some where between completely incapable, and completely novice. Pablap skils are numerous, a few examples being: He managed to figure out that if you hold the trigger on your plasma pistol, the shot charges up. He was quite proud to figure that one out. He also learned that if you hold back your tears in combat, you can really see the battlefield much more clearly. He's known for being able to cuss out the enemy (from a safe, non-lethal distance.) He can also burp his ABC's.

Reason for joining : I've always been intrigued by the alien species in the Covenant, and have always played with the Elite model in multiplayer, so when i started playing this server, and saw you could play an Elite, I really wanted to get the whitelist, so, that's why. Really quite a simple reason, but, no more simple then most of the reasons given, really.

Roleplay Example/History: I've been playing various SS13 servers for around 7 months, and have also admined and hosted various different roleplay servers in a whole variety of games for some years. Namely, Garry's Mod, Minecraft, and so on. I've also been playing Halo for quite some time, and know a decent amount about the game's story and world.

  Covenant Application
Posted by: fizgul - 11-14-2019, 01:10 PM - Forum: Finished Applications - Replies (1)

Ckey: Dil9

Discord name: fizgul#9927 , but I don't use it very often.

In-character name: Unggoy: Fisfis Kig-yar: Nux/Nyx (i change it between if i change the gender)

general character info: Fisfis is a stupidly loyal unggoy and follows whatever anyone of the higher Covenant species tells him to do, even if will end with him dead. Also whenever a volunteer is needed he tries to be the first to volunteer, whether its fixing a breach or manning the ship scanner. Basically he tries to be a good example of an unggoy but can be held back by just not being smart enough.
Nux on the other hand sees being a Covenant soldier as more of a contract and isn't so driven, they do whats needed for the mission and not anything more. Still loyal but only avoids heresy out of it being the ship law, and doesn't submit to the sangheili so readily just keeping it as a sort of business relation between worker and boss. They talk a lot on the comms to give updates and make the mission go smoother.

Reason for joining: I tried around on the server with all the different jobs, URF, UNSC, ONI and I've gotta say I like playing the Covenant the best. In the two races a non Covenant whitelist can play it's fun to me how the game mechanics are put in and how they match up with the Halo games. Good contrast to having to deal with annoying shield jackals or grenade crazy grunts in them, now I can be them.

Roleplay Example/History: I have been playing SS13 since 2015 playing on most of the big servers from low to med to high RP and I've liked to compliment it with short little conversations or comments with the other crew members or soldiers. Decent experience with tabletop roleplaying too, but I haven't been able to play it consistently.

More depth with factions details IE: roles, etc will be added later.

  Johnny Fanta's Shipmaster Application
Posted by: SeederJoe - 11-14-2019, 12:56 PM - Forum: Finished Applications - Replies (2)

Ckey: JoeFanta

Discord name (username####): Johnny Fanta#0979

Character Name(s): Tiberus 'Faustus / Frank J. Gelatt (The XO)

How long have you been a member of the Covenant Faction?: In total? I do not know, though considering I've been a part of it for quite a while back in the day, I'd say quite a bit.

What are some examples of good Covenant Roleplay that you have been a part of?:
Recently I've had less and less opportunities to properly roleplay, but I've had my fair share of experiences, that I've shared in the past, like the duel on GC that I had mentioned in my faction application.

Roughly put, every race has their own quirks when it comes to roleplay. The higher the rank of a being is within the covenant, the larger are the expectations of players and their characters. A shipmaster's supposed to be a highly intelligent, religious zealot and a proficient tactician that looks down upon any and all heretical behaviour, while going all out to maintain cohesion aboard their vessel.

Do you understand the Faction Rules?: Yes, I do.

Do you understand that you are not above the Covenant law, and may be persecuted for not following the Faction Rules?: Yes, I do.

Do you understand that you can be removed from the whitelist at any given time, based on your behavior, even when not playing the role you applied for?: Yes, I do.

What do you think your job is as the role you are applying for?: I'm applying for a shipmaster, a very difficult to play role, due to the fact that it's a role that is in charge of both the main covenant vessel and every troop aboard it. They're supposed to keep the ship's integrity and it's crew at an acceptable level, to ensure their survival as a collective.

Why should you be whitelisted?: I main command roles 80% of the time and so far I've never disappointed. On the covenant side I play Tiberus Faustus, an Elite Major with which I've achieved the faction a Major Victory probably more than once. On the UNSC side, I main the XO role, simply because it's the only high command role I have access to, and so far I've never managed to lose my ODP/Ship, regardless of who won the round. I'd say these are my two most notable characters as of late, they both have flavour texts and I've genuinely done my best to keep things both rule-friendly and at the same time make sure no one's bored.

A round which I consider a victory of mine as a UNSC XO, was during one of my most recent ones. With a rather small, yet decent crew, I captured the artifact and destroyed the covenant shipyard, before majorly crippling their ship and forcing them into slipspace until the end of the round.

A recent Covenant Major I achieved as my Elite Major, was when I was in charge of the ship as the only Elite on-board. We captured the artifact, raided ONI fairly quickly after stumbling upon it and then went after the UNSC ship. We destroyed the ODP, their support vessels, their shipyards and then crippled their ship to the point where everyone but their mac gunner were dead or had fled. We then captured their Nav chip and set off the antimatter bomb aboard the vessel.

I think I'm a good commander, a decent roleplayer too when given the opportunity. I am genuinely serious and I know what I'm applying for, so I'm not jumping into cold waters.

Discord Name:Cooliecan

Character(s):Redrock Xen

How does your character interact with the world around them and the people in it?: Redrock's experiences have left him with a seething hatred for ONI and the UEG and is eager to recruit those to his righteous cause of freedom from all oppressors. He does not shy away from the frontlines and is often seen with strike teams of liberated civilians or converted UNSC grunts.

Civilians - Hard-working people under the rule of EUG and potential allies, in the fight for freedom. Redrock will often recruit them, as saboteurs, infiltrators or hired hands.
URF - A largely incompetent rabble whose heart is in the right place, often lacking leadership, but fight for the same cause, Redrock will often try to work with them or help them if in need.
X-52/SoE - Some of the brightest hard-working minds and brethren who strive for the liberation of mankind, who share the same hatred for ONI. Redrock treats them with the utmost respect.
Covenant - A foe like none other. Redrock sees them as a terrifying foe, one which if manipulated correctly may help take down ONI and cripple the UNSC.
UNSC/ODSTs - Mostly naive troops who invertedly fight for the oppression of mankind. Redrock's first reaction to most will be to capture and convert them to the SOE's cause, minimising casualties and saving ODSTs who are critically wounded for later conversion. If they refuse proper procedure is followed. For ODSTs they may duel for their lives. With UNSC grunts they may be dropped off on a nearby planet with a pistol and some supplies.
ONI/UEG - The true oppressors of mankind. And depending on their rank will meet justice for their crimes against humanity. If they are lower ranking scientists who are ignorant Redrock will try to show them the ways of freedom and get them to join X-52.

Provide a brief description of your character:

Redrocks appearance is of a scarred old soldier and skilled in unconventional warfare tactics having to make the most of all resources available to him.

A brief of his backstory:
A grizzled space fairing veteran who was an initial crew member onboard the merchant's vessel Crestel during the successful raid of the Callisto on March 2, 2494. After taking the UNSC ship and aiding in slaughtering the crew onboard and gutting the computer system replacing it with their own. The Cresetel crew and Redrock were hungry for more victories over the UNSC, leading it to an almost successful victory over another three ships. But during combat, the slimy UNSC falsely surrendered launching a missile into the captured Callisto killing many of his comrades, the fires from the explosion scarring his skin causing Redrock to flee capture in an escape Callisto pod back to Levosia. From there Redrock spent the next years fostering the rebellion in the UEG Colony leading small strike teams against the UNSC crippling their hold on the area and eventually leading to aiding the capture of the UNSC Bellerophon. Were the incompetence of the insurrectionist command onboard infuriated Redrock. After the ship was disabled from a stalemate with a UNSC ship, he parted ways with the Bellicose crew on Eridani II after helping with the ship repairs.

How much experience do you have with the game: Within SS13 itself, I've been playing early 2018 (to be exact, 15th January) and was primarily playing CM and Paradise station, as since I play on a Mac via. VM, they were pretty much the only servers I could play on, though I did play Yogs before it switched to a /tg/ codebase, which I cannot sadly run. It was around a few months after I started playing SS13 that I played Halostation, when the only mode was Insurrection vs ODST's, the game back then did not run very smoothly however, so I only played a few rounds and then stopped playing until another few months later, where I joined back just after KS7 replaced Geminus, I joined the UNSC faction, my very first faction. I spent a few weeks playing between URF and the crayon eaters, I then applied and joined the ODST's and chilled as an ODST Marksman with Cigaro for a while. I then left the ODST's and the faction as a whole to create/found the URFC, with Socks, Eluxor and Zergursh and the rest is pretty much history, with me later gaining the URF Officer whitelist.

Prior Work (if applicable): The only really relevant experience I have, besides just helping players ingame with things they need assistance with if I can manage it, is within a deceased server called SCP13, where I was a lore maintainer, helping filter lore into gameplay mechanics and fitting how the game functions with how the SCPF could work. Along with this I answered any player or staff's question's to do with the SCPF lore (which I wish to switch to gameplay questions with becoming a Mentor.)

How much experience do you have with the game:
In terms of records, the oldest recorded image that was related to this server was in 17/9/2018, though my account was made in May 20th, 2017, leaving me with 2+ years of experience with SS13. My first server was Yogstation, which I played for about 4 months frequently, before moving onto CM. After playing that for 3 or so months, I had about 4 months Administrating on Lebensraum (and indirectly, Stalker RP because of it), before taking a long break from the game after Lebensraum was shut down. Halostation was the spark that lit my passion again, and I'd want to return the favour, by giving my time to help other players like myself, looking for their ideal fun server. As for Halostation itself, my expertise in knowledge lie mainly in the medicine and unconventional side of warfare. Riley was my first (and only) student for Medicine, and we both learned new things and improved our crafts as a result. I also try to help correct people on their mistakes and unnecessary actions in deadchat where applicable, such as being too passive or not keeping the right distance from certain enemy types (like shotgunners). As for factions...

UNSC - UNSC were my first faction, and where I mainly learned the game. I quickly became an ODST in my first week of playing (not a very good one, could barely kill flood mobs) and improved all I could. I was an ODST Medic (in the 4th squad, I believe) which made my rank automatically HM3. I was ODST Medic for, about two months, give or take, and left about 3 days before the ODST Private Discord was discovered (though, I was made URF only around 3 weeks later). I've been adminspawn Spartan on a few occasions, and generally play as a sarcastic dickhead when not doing anything serious. Being 'tacticool' all the time just isn't my style.

URF - URF are my second and current faction, and where I started to really improve my technical knowledge and skill with the game. I created the original URF Commando lore, which was later expanded upon by Walaski, and then modified by Eluxor to fit his faction (still ongoing). I've had the most fun in the game as a URF terrorist, and I wouldn't have it any other way.  Now, as a URF, I've learned to play for my own fun and satisfaction, not to win. After all, losing is fun, and losing with satisfaction is more fufilling then winning easily. I usually play Artyom and Horace, though sometimes play other stereotypes for my own entertainment.

Covenant - While I've never joined the Covenant faction, I often play their unwhitelisted roles, mainly Jackal (my character is Bum). They have by far the highest skill ceiling in the game for most of their mechanics. For instance, a new player may not realise that the hand shield exists, while an inexperienced one may understand how to activate it, and an experienced player may understand how to best use it with face direction. I don't try to direct people into becoming masters (people are free to do what they want), but I often try and bridge the gap between inexperienced and experienced, giving other plays vital advice in LOOC (such as how to face lock direction as Jackal) Knowing is half the battle, and the rest of the battle is having some fun. I will someday join the Covenant faction once I'm bored with URF, though that day is nowhere in sight at the moment.

Prior Work (if applicable):

Lebensraum - A dead project based on recreating the events of WW2, with the project lead being Harcourt (and 4 other Councillors who I've long since forgotten)  This was my first (and so far, only) administrator position, and the administration to player ratio was about 1:25 on highpop rounds. Moderators weren't an official rank in Lebensraum in terms of server, so I started as an Admin (but was usually referred to as a moderator). In about 2-3 months, I'd risen to the rank of Head Administrator, sharing the rank with Outboarduniform (Who is in the Halostation discord, if you wish to confirm any information). Mentors also weren't a thing, but due to the general simplicity of the game, they were rarely needed/requested and admins usually handled help requests at the lowest priority (many people did not receive any answer. The ticket system relied on chat and not verb, so if you weren't reading chat, you'd have to scroll up to find the ahelp, which admins would rarely do). Admins generally didn't deadmin, due to the small number of staff and large number of players (had to always be answering Ahelps, even mid-game)

Stalker RP -  A side project with strong ties to the old Lebensraum council, I was asked to play as a higher RP then usual whitelist role (Duty Faction Officer) and was often in contact with the staff team in order to sort out minor round details. Occasionally, I was also given moderator a few times to help with mass influx of new players. I was never too active due to Lebensraum, but I assisted new players where I could in the absence of admins. A fun and nice lowpop experience, mainly focused on mob fighting and scavenging for stashes and equipment. I didn't usually interact much with the project leads and hosts. I'm not sure how they ended up after all this time.
