  staff complaint
Posted by: Cash7800 - 11-10-2019, 06:35 AM - Forum: Finished Complaints - Replies (2)

Your CKEY/BYOND username: cash7800

Admin's CKEY/BYOND username: Allakai

Details of complaint: At 1:10 something I launched a bunch of boarding beacons and then the UNSC leader told me to stop launching boarding beacons after I had already stopped, and so I launched a boarding pod and got killed by the covvies as you do and then Allakai bwoinked me and said that I had insubordinated even though I didn't and that if I did this again I would get a jobban, and then I looked through all the rules pages and there isn't even anything about standard marines insubordinating so even if I did insubordinate I dont get why it would result in a bwoink or warning at all.

How long have you been a Whitelisted ODST?:  For as long the role has been available on the server.

Have you ever been banned here, or on other servers?: Got banned on CM years ago

Do you understand and agree to follow the rules linked above, as well as the Faction Rules of the UNSC and the Server Rules? Yes

Do you understand that whitelisted Spartans are expected to comment on and observe the conduct of other Spartan, on the forums as well as discord? Yes, I do.

Name of the Spartan you want to play: Leon-332

Explain what you would do in the following scenarios and why:

Scenario 1:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and the ONI RD requests a Sierra team to deploy to VT9, as the covenant have been spotted and are attacking. They have not breached the gate and it is unclear as to the size of their forces. What do you do?

Wait for the initial waves of UNSC to deal with it, if they prove incapable and the base starts falling apart due to the might of the assault, deploy once the high threat has been confirmed by the intel gathered..

Scenario 2:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and receive an urgent request from a Platoon Leader to deploy onto the UNSC Warship as the Insurrectionists have deployed a sizeable force and are taking control of the ship, and arming the nuclear device as they request assistance. What do you do?

Put the value of the mission on the balance against other missions, if the threat is so big that it risks the integrity of the Aegis, stay on the safe side and protect the prowler along with the rest of your men.

Scenario 3:

You’ve been deployed on a mission to give the covenant back their bomb. You manage to arm the bomb, but your fellow spartan has been cut down and his body is being dragged away by the Covenant towards an escape pod. What do you do?

Move away from the primary mission to retrieve the spartan body and put it away of enemy hands, then return to the original task once the body has been secured through detonation or safe storage.

Yes.

Yes.

Name of the Spartan you want to play (Name-000. Try and avoid commonly known numbers like -117.):

'You’re on the ONI Aegis and the ONI RD requests a Sierra team to deploy to VT9, as the covenant have been spotted and are attacking. They have not breached the gate and it is unclear as to the size of their forces. What do you do?'

The gate is closed and the Covenant have been spotted meaning that there is a security element already present. We also cannot deploy at the first sighting of covenant forces unless the current friendly forces were depleted. We do not deploy.

Scenario 2:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and receive an urgent request from a Platoon Leader to deploy onto the UNSC Warship as the Insurrectionists have deployed a sizeable force and are taking control of the ship, and arming the nuclear device as they request assistance. What do you do?

I would first contact HIGHCOM to verify the situation, and ask for guidance, otherwise I would not deploy as the reporting individual is a Marine Squad leader.

Scenario 3:

You’ve been deployed on a mission to give the covenant back their bomb. You manage to arm the bomb, but your fellow spartan has been cut down and his body is being dragged away by the Covenant towards an escape pod. What do you do?

Asset denial immediately. They are not able to drag a SPARTAN away faster than bullets, and even then they wouldn't be able to get into the pod in time. IF they are RNG enough to get in the pod the pods launch sequence takes longer than it does for me to enter it aswell. with that, the Covie made part of my job easier by getting my buddy into a pod and giving us the fastest escape.

How long have you been a Whitelisted ODST?:
Since 13/06/2019, been an ODST officer for about a month.

Have you ever been banned here, or on other servers?:

Never here, but absolutely other servers. No current bans, but I can elaborate on some bans from other servers. Mostly from CM in the past 3 years ish.

Do you understand and agree to follow the rules linked above, as well as the Faction Rules of the UNSC and the Server Rules?
Absolutely. It’s in my best interest to follow ROE — to be a good role model to other players, as a high-expectation role like this shouldn’t be acting like a bunch of low tier shitters.

Do you understand that whitelisted Spartans are expected to comment on and observe the conduct of other Spartan, on the forums as well as discord?
Absolutely. I already comment and observe on the ODSTs under my command, so it won’t be much of a stretch.

Name of the Spartan you want to play (Name-000. Try and avoid commonly known numbers like -117.):
Dave-970

Explain what you would do in the following scenarios and why:

Scenario 1:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and the ONI RD requests a Sierra team to deploy to VT9, as the covenant have been spotted and are attacking. They have not breached the gate and it is unclear as to the size of their forces. What do you do?

---------------------

There are several things wrong with this scenario that I’ll pick apart: As a first note, there is no clear, attainable goal for the Spartans — being told to deploy is attainable, not an objective, if they were told to deploy, and secure Orion intelligence, that would be a valid, attainable goal.

Secondly, the scenario makes it sound like as if ONI/UNSC did not attempt to deploy UNSC or ODST forces, or even use their own ONI security personnel. Because of this, the Spartans would not be able to deploy, as no one else had attempted to fight against the covenant force.

Lastly, they have not even verified if the Covenant forces are significant, and worth the time of a Spartan team. For all they know, it could be a couple grunts, or even just a lone kig yar — clearly not worth the time of the Spartans.

Scenario 2:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and receive an urgent request from a Platoon Leader to deploy onto the UNSC Warship as the Insurrectionists have deployed a sizeable force and are taking control of the ship, and arming the nuclear device as they request assistance. What do you do?

---------------------

There's a couple things to mention about this scenario. Assuming that the ACO, being the PL, didn’t give an actual direct, attainable goal — but for the purposes, I’ll assume the objective would be to “push the insurrectionists off, and disarm the nuke.”

If the Insurrectionists are deploying full force to the UNSC warship, and are currently setting off a nuke, it’s safe to assume that the marines and ODST complement have already been utilized, and have failed in their objective — as the Innies are taking control, and setting off a nuke. UNSC failing in their objective isn’t enough to deploy Spartans, however, that brings me into my next point:

Potentially losing a UNSC Warship is a very heavy blow, and it’s very significant for the UNSC to prevent this. Given this, I believe it would be justified to deploy Spartans on the UNSC warship, as the situation implies that the Marines/ODST are unable to fend off the threat, and have been depleted. Preventing a very, very, very expensive ship from blown up by armed rebels is a high important goal, assuming no Priorities are being conflicted with.

Scenario 3:

You’ve been deployed on a mission to give the covenant back their bomb. You manage to arm the bomb, but your fellow spartan has been cut down and his body is being dragged away by the Covenant towards an escape pod. What do you do?

---------------------

Ensuring that the body, and it’s technology, is not taken is the number one priority objective, as the retrieval of gear is only trumped by protecting the Aegis. With such, I’d do anything in my power to retrieve the gear. If, after retrieving the body, I had to choose between exfiltrating with the gear and body, and preventing the Covenant from disarming the bomb — the priority is getting that gear gets back in safe hands, on the Aegis.

Assuming at that point, I’d be the only Spartan left, I would be relegated to playing watch dog on the Aegis, and unless ordered by High Command, I’d be forced to leave the Covenant alone, as I wouldn’t have a partner at that time.

How long have you been a Whitelisted ODST?: A Month and a half, at most. I don't remember its been quite some time.

Have you ever been banned here, or on other servers?:

Only time I have been banned is a Job ban for ONI Security for Two Days due to leaving the base and heading over to GC.

Rather than that, None at all.

Do you understand and agree to follow the rules linked above, as well as the Faction Rules of the UNSC and the Server Rules?

I do understand and Agree to follow them all.

Do you understand that whitelisted Spartans are expected to comment on and observe the conduct of other Spartan, on the forums as well as discord?

I do.

Name of the Spartan you want to play (Name-000. Try and avoid commonly known numbers like -117.):

Odin - 025

Explain what you would do in the following scenarios and why:

Scenario 1:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and the ONI RD requests a Sierra team to deploy to VT9, as the covenant have been spotted and are attacking. They have not breached the gate and it is unclear as to the size of their forces. What do you do?

Scenario 1 Answer: Depends on the type of mission given, If it is just to deploy to take out covenant forces there with out any evidence of high ranked covenant on the field and its just scouts. Then Deployment from the ONI RD shouldn't be nessicary or of the utmost importance till UNSC arrive on the scene and fail to fend them off. Then it'd be best to deploy if there is a sizable amount of spartans avalible to do so

Scenario 2:

You’re on the ONI Aegis and receive an urgent request from a Platoon Leader to deploy onto the UNSC Warship as the Insurrectionists have deployed a sizeable force and are taking control of the ship, and arming the nuclear device as they request assistance. What do you do?

Scenario 2 Answer: Seeing that the request has come from an E-7 Platoon Leader and not a Person such as the Commanding Officer or UNSC HC unless the Platoon lead is acting aCO at the time, then the chance of deployment could increase but It would be best to leave dealing with that to the ODST Troopers. If no ODST can come to aid, then it'd be best in my eyes to fax UNSC HC first and await a reply before deciding to bother or not if the Platoon lead is not acting command officer.

Scenario 3:

You’ve been deployed on a mission to give the covenant back their bomb. You manage to arm the bomb, but your fellow spartan has been cut down and his body is being dragged away by the Covenant towards an escape pod. What do you do?

Scenario 3 Answer: Due to this Scenario interfering abit with Priority 2, It'd be best to focus on preventing the said Covenant Soldier from getting away with the Spartan Body / Gear as the Anit-Matter bomb as been armed and it should be fine for a minute while you deal with the Inconvenience. Though if the Body cannot be Obtained, Focus on the Anti-Matter bomb till it is near detonation because no covenant soldier would abandoned ship unless the emergency was real urgent like 20 seconds on the AM remaining. Though be sure to atleast try and prevent the Covvie from getting away by putting a few bullets in the hostile and injuring them.

Failure to comply with server rules or general lowRP shittery may lead to whitelist removal.

Only those currently accepted into the UNSC Faction may apply to Spartan

  [DEFUNCT] Faction Rules
Posted by: Stingray540 - 11-10-2019, 04:10 AM - Forum: Section II (Announcements) - No Replies

HaloStation Faction Rules:

This is now defunct and only kept for historical reasons.

What follows are the faction rules for each of the four main groups our server focuses on.

UNSC & ONI

  1. The UNSC is here to protect the UEG and its citizens, as well as their own ONI base in the system. As any UNSC role, you must NOT randomly kill civilians (including NPCs) unless there is prior roleplay of some kind. These reasons could be as simple as refusing to comply inside an active warzone, being openly armed on the colony with an insurrectionist presence, or hindering the UNSC’s objective on the colony. When in doubt, ahelp it.
    1. Note that killing civilians is almost always still going to break the UNSC’s Marine Law, though this will be considered an IC issue (assuming it was OOCly approved in the first place)
  2. ONI Researchers are expected to give the Forerunner artefact over to the UNSC Forces only when a covenant/URF threat is confirmed on the planet. They are authorised to give it away before if they have no intention on researching it or securing it, however.
  3. The UNSC forces by this point in the server timeline only have a vague understanding of the covenant and their technology. As such, your role depends on how much of this technology you can use:

Spartans: Can use everything the covenant has, including piloting their ships and vehicles as they’ve been extensively trained and are up-to-date with ONI’s recent discoveries on the enemy’s technology

Marines/ODSTs/Command Staff/ONI Guards: Can use all of the covenant’s handheld weaponry such as plasma pistols and rifles due to familiarity with what they’ve found in the field.

ONI Researchers: Can use everything the covenant has, including piloting their ships and vehicles. In addition to this, researchers have the unique (RP) ability to teach other players about covenant technology. In order to teach a player how to use it, you must have a working, unbroken version of it available (Like a ghost that a grunt abandoned on the field) and must physically RP teaching the player the controls and such. When teaching another player, to avoid confusion, please ahelp with a message like: “I’ve taught Bob Smith how to pilot ghosts as an ONI Researcher”. This is logged even if no admins are online at the time.

  1. The UNSC values the Law. Command Staff MUST follow UNSC Law as if they were lawbreakers they would not have risen to such high ranks. In addition to this, Command Staff should enforce the law on their ships (In absence of MPs, which depend on the ship currently in rotation). This means ordering the arrest of marines for crimes committed should the situation be acceptable. (Don’t brig a marine for breaking a door down when the covenant is currently glassing the colony…) Command Staff who do not follow the Law may be subject to having their whitelist removed, or a jobban applied.

Insurrectionists (Applies to all cells/versions/SoE)

  1. The insurrection is here to free the citizens of the outer colonies from the tyrannical grip of the UNSC by any means necessary. And as such, they should not be murdering civilians (including NPCs) openly without sufficient RP. This can be as simple as refusing to follow an order or actively halting the progress of the insurrection. Creative RP such as “I shot all these civilians while wearing UNSC Gear so that the UNSC is blamed” may also be approved. When in doubt, ahelp.
  2. The Insurrection only has a vague understanding of the covenant at this point in the server timeline. With this knowledge, they may only use covenant weapons unless there is RP with a captured ONI Researcher or an X52 Researcher.

Covenant:

  1. The Covenant is a highly religious grouping of aliens that have decided that humanity is a heretical race and that their very existence is an affront to their belief. The Covenant should not seek to join, team up, cooperate or otherwise be friendly with humans lest they be branded a heretic themselves. This may be excused with an admin’s permission during events.
  2. Covenant forces are either unable or unwilling (due to their beliefs) to use human technology including their weapons, vehicles, items, equipment, or complex machinery. Use of their self-destruct nuclear devices and navigational chips are acceptable. If you're unsure, ahelp.
  3. Covenant forces may not use their plasma projector on planets (Laser-designated OB is okay) unless they have secured the forerunner artefact. Ship versus ship is okay. This is because without confirmation of the safety of the artefact, the risk of unknowingly destroying it is too high. Furthermore, Geminus City should not be glassed even if you have the artefact until a majority of capture points have been secured.
  4. Most of the covenant live in extreme fear of their superiors at all times, whose zeal often is the cause of many beatings, if not deaths, of those who disobey. Mutiny for the covenant species is disallowed without admin permission and a sufficient IC reason. Brutes, due to their nature, are given more freedom with the reasoning but still need to ahelp.

Civilians/GCPD:

  1. The GCPD know near-nothing about the covenant aside from the fact that they are an alien race who have been destroying other colonies. More information can be ICly ‘taught’ by those who know these things.
  2. You may not join the UNSC or URF unless there is significant RP in place. Doing so causes you to lose your civilian status, as well as now having to obey that faction’s OOC rules. You will still have to RP gaining the knowledge of the covenant after doing this.
  3. You are not a soldier. You’re a colonist trying to live their life. Don’t powergame for gear around the colony unless there is an IC reason to be doing so
  4. The GCPD are there to serve and protect, as well as following the laws that the mayor sets to the best of their ability. They are not Judge, Jury, and Executioner. You will be expected to non-lethally take down civilian criminals where possible.

In-character name: Brielle Sandford

general character info:
Brielle, like many Marines, was born on Earth. Like many more marines, she felt the need to defend Earth. She was raised in an orphanage, and chose to spend her free time throwing rocks at cans, like mini target practice. This became boring. Soon, Brielle was using BB guns, and small fire arms, each one she "borrowed" from a friend or two. This skill would be important later, as she became Private Sandford: Marine Sniper

Which role is your character's main(ex: Technician, Marine, etc): Scout Sniper

Reason for joining : While the Covenant is cool, and the URF got Communism, the UNSC is probably the best out of the three, as it has both the most badass characters, while also having touching moments and dark history. Plus, Spartans and ODST are pretty dope.

In-character name:I have multiple characters but the one i mainly use is Pipin the unggoy and if i get to play as any other race it would be a elite named Kepo 'Matan probably a minor or someone not of high rank for elites

general character info: well pipin i a grunt fr starters, a cowardly, cannon fodder, methane breathing, egg laying grunt. Like most grunts he seems to hate the jackals, and brutes, holds a high respect for the elites and what they do but secretly does not believe in the great journey. Viewing the forerunners as just a race that might not even have existed in the first place. wielding only a needler and not piloting very many things. my plan for the elite is different, a honor bound, brute hating, grunt respecting (if i remember right the grunt rebellion made the grunts respected by the elites) Elite using mostly plasma carbine or rifle (maybe an energy sword if able) fights for what they know as the great journey trying his best in battle, listening to superiors and having mixed feelings about the humans.

Reason for joining : I like covenant more than humans even i just want a chance to play them big... lizard? reptile of some sort maybe... well anyways i want to play some elites, or maybe a brute in all honest i just want a chance to play more of the covenant.

Roleplay Example/History: I have roleplayed many things before i did discord roleplays (don't judge) I did GTA roleplays i played dnd where the main rule was to roleplay your best. my favorite activity is writing and roleplaying and in my opinion those are two sides of the same coin.
