UNSC Bertels
The UNSC Bertels is the main UNSC combat vessel in the 111 Tauri system, although recent reinforcements from High Command have been seen travelling to Geminus City Colony.
The Bertels is equipped with 3 weapon types: A MAC Cannon, Missiles and Deck Guns. All of these weapons are highly effective against the bare hull of a ship, however, Covenant ships are likely to be outfitted with a shield. The Bertels' MAC cannon is capable of depleting this shield in two hits, making it the most important weapon against the Covenant. Until the shield is depleted, the Bertels has reduced effectiveness against the Covenant.

The first deck of the Bertels contains:
- the main bridge (mid/east)
- officer's quarters (east)
- various hygiene and comfort related rooms
- minor crew armories
- an auxilliary fusion generator
- individual weapon emplacement controls (west)
- stairs down (just east of bridge, marked by deck number signs.)
The most important room on deck 1 is the Bridge, which contains a wide array of consoles, ranging from squad overwatch consoles to ship-focused navigation and weapons consoles.
Deck two is the main deck of the bertels, containing most of the equipment and rooms used in normal operation.
The western section contains:
- the MAC cannon
- the briefing room (south of MAC)
- the mess hall
- the main armory
- marine bunks and hygiene facilities
- Vehicle bays, accessible via the hangar bay.
- stairs to deck 3's ODST area. (Marked by deck number signs)
The middle section contains:
- the main hangar bays
- the medbays and morgue
- a janitorial supply closet
- a chemistry station
- the brig
The eastern section contains:
- stairs up to deck 1 and stairs down to the main area of deck 3 (both marked by deck number signs)
- a cryogenics bay (go here if you need to leave the game)
- engineering supply room
- miscellaneous supplies room (south of engineering supplies)
- main power storage and generation, including a slipspace drive.
- main ship thrusters.
Deck 3 of the Bertels is the location you will likely first see due to it containing the ship's umbilical connections. Most of deck 3's western section is dedicated to ODST equipment, including their SOEIV drop pods.
Due to the whitelisted nature of the ODST roles, the facilities in their portion of the ship won't be described.
The middle section contains:
- the main comms machinery
- the umbilical connections
- boarding pods with boarding beacon launchers (usage of these without EVA gear is not recommended, however, eva gear is available in all emergency oxygen closets)
- stairs up to deck 2, marked with deck number signs.
The eastern section contains:
- oxygen canister storage
- an auxilliary power generator
- a small training room
- a cryogenics bay
- the battle bridge
- a set of auxilliary hangars.
