Jiralhanae are a carnivorous, sapient species of mammals who share physical characteristics with Earth's gorillas, rhinoceros, and bears; due to their bear-like features, they are designated pseudo-ursines. They have thick skin that ranges in color from dark grey to dark and light brown and makes them highly resistant to harm, and their bodies are covered with matted tan, grey, white, brown or black fur. Some Jiralhanae, such as those of the Vheiloth skein, shave their fur, with higher-ranking individuals sporting beards or mohawks. Pale fur and skin are considered extremely rare.

History

The Jiralhanae, known by humans as Brutes, are a carnivorous sapient species of pseudo-ursine mammals. Originating from the planet Doisac, the Jiralhanae were the final addition to the Covenant hegemony. Many Jiralhanae have a profound hatred of the Sangheili, unmatched by any other feud within the Covenant. This rivalry was fueled by the Jiralhanae's naturally aggressive demeanor and the Sangheili's societal sense of superiority over them at the time of the Covenant.

Jiralhanae Chieftain	Unused/Admin Spawn Only	Lore Description: The Jiralhanae Chieftain is the leader of a pack given the Jiralhanae's tribal nature. They can command all the Jiralhanae below them, but other Jiralhanae may compete with them for their role. Generally they just lead the pack and smash stuff with their hammer. Job Description: As the Jiralhanae Chieftain, it is your duty to command those under you and instill fear into your enemies. You are less of a command role and an advanced combat role, given that Jiralhanae typically never lead strategically. Jiralhanae Captain	Reclamation, Base assault, Capture and Hold, Crusade (Covenant Whitelist)	Lore Description: Typically the second in commands of the Jiralhanae Chieftain with the goal of leading small sub-packs stationed aboard separate vessels. They essentially act as a chieftain in the regards of taking their role. Job Description: As the Jiralhanae Captain, it is your job to lead the forces under your command, whether it be packmates or the insufferable Unggoy or Kig-Yar. You have the authority to take the grenade launcher from other Jiralhane if need be, or even spar them for it. Jiralhanae Major	Reclamation, Base assault, Capture and Hold, Crusade (Covenant Whitelist)	Lore Description: Essentially just veteran Minors in terms of ability in command and combat. This rank is really no different from Minor in any regards except one. Job Description: You get the fancy hat that shows you are a Major, meaning fights may be started over this and people can steal it to steal your title. Roleplay Level: Low-Medium Skill Level: Medium Competence: Medium Unique Feature: Major Helmet
Jiralhanae Minor	Reclamation, Base assault, Capture and Hold, Crusade (Covenant Whitelist)	Lore Description: New packmates that have just joined the military. They may have joined your pack as an adult by fighting their way into the respect of the pack, or they may have been born in it. The general mindset of these Minors is to just follow the leader and do as told. Job Description: Just do as told essentially. Not much to it other than that. You get to lead Unggoy and Kig-Yar, and are essentially a Sangheili Minor but lesser in terms of authority. Roleplay Level: Low-Medium Skill Level: Medium Competence: Medium Unique Feature: N/A
