Hailing from earth, in the sol system, Janet joined the military after insurgent forces raided a nearby military installation. Upon witnessing the carnage and devastation, she decided that she had only one option, and signed up that afternoon. Upon completion of basic training, Janet tried to join the elite corp of pilots, but dropped out for undisclosed reasons. Janet then went on to specialize in the machine gunnery school, before being assigned to the UNSC Heavens Above.
