Gamemode concept: Glasslands

Basic boarding mechanics are actually already in place (fly ship up to enemy hangar and follow enemy fighter in/out, dock at empty docking port/airlock, dock and attempt to cut through hull). I'm not sure how feasible they will be, but there needs to be multiple layers of defence against boarders unlike in CM where the indestructable shuttle essentially means aliens or marines can just teleport between the ship and the surface.
