He grew up with his 2 sisters, Jessica and Sadie and his 1 brother, Mike. due to Joe being the oldest, he was forced to find a job, finding none that really suited him, he signed up for the UNSC at age 16 with the consent of his parents. Kent proved to be a good shot and was selected for the marine force recon forces, as a sniper.<br /> <br /> <br /> == Early Military Career ==<br /> <br /> During a routine patrol, Kent and his spotter, who he referred to a Biggs, were ambushed by insurrectionists and taken hostage, in which they were rescued by members of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, in which Kent decided to join their ranks. requesting transfer to an ODST training Unit, Kent was accepted and sent off to ODST boot camp, in which he specialised once more in sharpshooting, choosing the SRS as his primary weapon of choice.
