Reason for joining : Rick Franks was a UNSC Bridge Officer on UNSC Bertels until the UNSC refused to help his home planet which was later glassed (read obliterated) by the Covenant. After that he gladly joined the URF so he could shoot the guys that indirectly caused his home planet to get boom-boomed.
