Star Citizen - DarkSpetznaz - 11-18-2017

Anyone heard of the alpha in-development game called star citizen? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaJx4TdshFA

It's an awesome game on multiple fronts that has a place for the most of the gaming community, FPS, parts of strategy, economic simulator, a story-lead single player and a huge EVE online-ish world controlled mostly by the players.

^^
Part of the Singleplayer.

The game has more than enough potential to change the standards of video games of our future!

I own an organization or otherwise known as a clan, we are mostly a military organization that dabbles in side projects like mining and mission-running, we do mercenary work and escorts for a price as well as hopefully with the help of the members, do some larger-scaled combat formations meaning fleet battles and combined operations!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvs9fhdu_EY  <<Example of Capital ship battle

If you're interested in this game feel free to post information, questions or other things about star citizen here!

Sexy isn't it?! The cheapest ship package that includes the game is only 45$, should check out their website, it is quite an amazing project!

What are the requirements like?

And is development still glacially slow, or are things actually moving along now?

The game requires a mid-high range power computer, the higher the better trust me, it's going at a steady pace honestly, some really good stuff is going to come out soon, and update to come includes the first real exploration persistent world which includes a lot of goodies, grabby hands which adds in the ability to pick up objects, place them where you want them or use them as a weapon, a full system to explore and planets that have seamless transition from space to planetary bodies, the next update is going to be the big one that decides the future of the game and it looks GOOD!

Hmm. Checked the requirements page. I seem to be good on CPU and RAM. Thankfully I actually do have over 200GB free on my SSD as well. I seem to be a bit lacking in video though. Do you think a 2GB 745M would be capable of running it, even at a lower setting? I don't really feel like attempting to desolder my current GPU and solder in a new one.

RE: Star Citizen - DarkSpetznaz - 11-21-2017

That would definitely be pushing it, but i think it will work on lowest settings, still if you can upgrade that then you should!

RE: Star Citizen - BDpuffy420 - 11-22-2017

I need it

Haha. Unless you want to give me like $30k to cover college tuition for the next couple of semesters, I doubt I'm going to be able to upgrade anytime soon.

Is there a demo or something I could use to see how playable it'd be, before I go and drop however much money on it?
