pressed "enable engine cruise mode" in the longsword and it went so fast it flew past the z-level tranistion barrier and into the nothingness zone

Yeah that's part of the current crop of issues with the cruise engine instead of a phased fast travel system. I'll probably swap over eventually, but this was faster and easier to setup.
